ROC Systems is a tobacco curing solution supplier based in Zimbabwe. The primary product that we manufacture is the Ecotunnel – a novel tobacco curing system. We make five different sizes, capable of handling 20, 28, 36, 42 and 48 Ha crops in a single planting. These units can be used to cure up to two further crops in a season when planted at monthly intervals.
Our technical team has designed a unique heat exchanger which operates on a dry heat system, thereby eliminating the necessity for a boiler unit and the high maintenance costs. The heating system has also been designed to reduce operating costs to the customer by considerable reductions in coal usage, diesel for generator power and electricity costs.
Our vision is to become the most sought-after tobacco curing equipment suppliers in Southern Africa.
Our systems are designed to be highly versatile in application. Our industry-reach has the potential to extend well beyond tobacco. For example, the ROC Systems heating system could be adapted for commercial use in dryers for grain, coffee, onions and paprika. Additionally, we manufacture roofing structures and supply roof sheets for sheds, as well as the manufacture of other steel structures as per our customers’ requirements.
To improve every aspect of the tobacco curing process. In our flagship product, the ecotunnel, this is reflected by increased operational efficiencies and significant cost reductions.
ROC Systems is still actively involved in Tobacco farming. We have our own farming division that grows an annual 50 Ha crop. We have built a 28 Ha ecotunnel, and a 48 Ha grading shed on our premises in Chinhoyi, and are actively curing our own crop using our own technology.
We are actively utilising this research and development to make a better product because we’ve used most of the curing units out there, and know how to improve it.
